All-Star Games

The Texas High School Coaches' Association All-Star Basketball and Football Games are the most prestigious all-star games in the state with a very rich history. They are highlights to an already star-studded Coaching School for coaches and fans.
The All-Star football game began in 1935 and the basketball game became a yearly event in 1946.
The list of participants in these games through the years has long been recognized as a preview of the college, NFL, and NBA stars of the future. Following are some of the many great players who were THSCA All-Star players: Tom Landry, Don Meredith, Kyle Rote, Tommy Nobis, Warren McVea, Earl Campbell, Scott Appleton, Billy Sims, Eric Dickerson, Roosevelt Leaks, Steve Worster, Billy Joe Tolliver, Curtis Dickey, Greg Ellis, Shane Lechler, Santana Dotson, Britt Hagar, LaDainian Tomlinson, Tony Brackens, Bobby Taylor, Drew Brees, Quentin Jammer, Huston Street, Aaron Schobel, Matt Schobel, Thurman Thomas, Ricky Sanders, Jessie Armstead, David Boston, Zach Thomas, Casey Hampton, Bo Outlaw, Shaquille O'Neal, Lovie Smith, Fennis Dembo, Dwight Jones, Terry Teagle, and Ira Terrell.
The Texas High School Coaches' Association handles the transportation and room and board for all of the all-stars and the players are also presented with a beautifully engraved wristwatch. It is a fun time for athletes, coaches, parents and fans of the game with memories they will treasure for a lifetime.
